Meet Dr. Peter Meyerhof!

Dr. Peter G. Meyerhof and his family live in the beautiful City of Sonoma where he has practiced dentistry since 1992.
He obtained his DDS degree from the School of Dentistry of the University of California, San Francisco, which is one of the highest ranking dental schools in the country.

He has achieved several significant goals and is working towards others, which uniquely set him apart in Sonoma:

* Dr. Meyerhof has been selected for listing in the "Guide to America's Top Dentists" for 2004 by the Consumers Research Council of America, an independent and unbiased research company based in Washington, DC that evaluates professional services throughout the United States.

* After completing hundreds of hours of continuing education and passing a comprehensive written exam, Dr. Meyerhof was awarded the distinction of becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry at their annual meeting in Toronto, Canada in 2000. He is now actively working towards the Master's award in this prestigious organization.

* In addition to his DDS degree, Dr. Meyerhof has earned two other postgraduate degrees, a Masters of Science and a doctorate in cell biology.

* He has conducted and published original research as well as taught at the undergraduate and graduate level in universities. This has given him a unique perspective at separating hype from substance in the rapidly advancing field of dentistry.

* He is a general member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an organization at the forefront of advancing the art and science of cosmetic dentistry and encouraging the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsible patient care among cosmetic dentists.

* He has recently obtained a patent on a unique dental mirror which he invented to facilitate greater precision in dental work. He is in the process of arranging the manufacture of this mirror, so that other dentists can benefit too.

* Realizing that the present state of dentistry is founded upon a very interesting history, Dr. Meyerhof, who is a member of the American Academy of the History of Dentistry, has assembled a unique collection of artifacts relating to the history of oral hygiene, and has published articles on some these. He also is in the process of writing an extensive biography on Dr. Robert Semple, a pioneer dentist, leader in the Bear Flag Revolt in Sonoma, first newspaper publisher, and statesman in early California.
